I met Sandy Stamato on Alignable last year and we became fast friends. We’ve witnessed each other’s businesses blooming and supported each other through various other life changes along the way. Sandy is an amazing coach who uses the power of Positive Intelligence™ to bring about fascinating mindset shifts in her clients. She has recently shifted her focus to helping healers and creative entrepreneurs change how they view sales through her signature program “Sage Selling”. I’ve been through the 6-week Positive Intelligence™ program and HIGHLY recommend learning more and checking out Sandy’s offerings (see below).
When did you start your business, and why did you create it?
I have been in sales, training and consulting for decades. I’ve specialized in coaching for the last six years. Since I was 33, I have had a deep, unwavering vision of “Changing the world of sales…one woman at a time” I didn’t realize it at the time but this “calling” has been my true north since I got into sales/training in 1990.
Tell us about your business and what makes you unique in your field.
I help female healers and creative entrepreneurs transform their mindset around sales so they can bring their gifts to the world. I am a Sales Mental Fitness Coach, and my signature program is “Sage Selling” – based on the power of Positive Intelligence™ which activates the SAGE region of our brains. The Sage Mindset has no room for “slimy or pushy” salesperson beliefs; SAGE selling is all about bringing your gifts to the world with confidence, ease, and abundance. The six-week Positive Intelligence program is the baseline for everything I do. It is a game changer and the only thing I have found that helps my talented and passionate clients transform their mindset around sales. It was the missing puzzle piece in furthering my mission of “Changing the world of Sales…one woman at a time”. It’s a new and radical approach to sales because Positive Intelligence™ is about rewiring your brain. It doesn’t just change your mindset, it literally changes your mind.
What do you feel makes your audience special?
They truly have gifts to bring to the world. I am constantly in awe of my client’s courage and fortitude. These women are forging a way through the clutter and noise of the digital marketplace with a genuine desire to make a difference. They are willing to say “Nope, not today, inner critic/Judge, etc., I am tapping into a new region of my brain (my Sage) so pipe down, I’ve got stuff to do.” It makes my heart sing!
If you could magically give all of your community members one thing in this world, what would it be, and why?
I would give all my community my Sage Selling program which includes the 6-week Positive Intelligence™ class – because this revolutionary science is the only thing, in all my years, that has gotten under the hood of my client’s beliefs. They not only discover that their internal saboteurs are telling them brutally nasty thoughts (creating those beliefs that debilitate and decimate their passion) but can access their self-command mental muscle to stop the internal chatter. In that quiet, access the sage part of their brains (where all the yummy stuff hangs out: passion, curiosity, empathy, generosity, abundance, etc). “Selling” at this point has nothing to do with “closing” or new cold-calling techniques. It’s about authenticity and clear, generous offerings. It’s all about Ease and Flow. The way of the Sage : )
Has anything surprised you about starting a business?
Yes, how resilient I am. Before incorporating Positive Intelligence™ into my offerings, I was floundering. During Covid, trying to compete in the digital marketplace as a coach was so disheartening, but I kept going. I didn’t quit. One day, I threw my hands up into the air and said, “Spirit of the Universe, please either bring me something that will help me further my mission or take away the yearning.” A colleague called two days later and asked if I’d heard of Shirzad Chamin and his Positive Intelligence™ grant program! I applied, got accepted and haven’t stopped since.
Did you create your own website or hire it out? Do you use WordPress?
I hired someone. We use Wix.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting their own business?
Get help. Find someone successful – who has what you want – and ask them to mentor you. I wasted so much energy and passion trying to do everything myself. I was blessed to have a mentor for 25 years. I named my business after her. Her legacy lives on with me and with the countless other women she mentored over the years. Here’s the thing – we’re in a time and place where so many women have broken out of Corporate to bring their gifts to the world. We are all in this together. Join any cool networking groups that share that vibe. Meet people, talk to them, listen to them. Find YOUR people. Have Cory design your website- she speaks the language of authenticity and female empowerment! (aww – thanks Sandy!) Find other women who GET what you are doing and want to support and nurture your passion.
If you could go back in time and do something differently, what would you do and why?
I truly can’t think of anything. I’m 62 years young – ha- see what I did there? – and I feel like I’m 35. Life is good and precious. I am committed to learning from my mistakes but not dwelling on them. When my husband got cancer during Covid, it was a wake-up call. He’s great now, but if it had gone undetected, he wouldn’t have made it. It’s grace that he’s here and healthy. My takeaway? Life is precious and short. Learn from those “mistakes” (are they mistakes? who knows!) and move on. Wow. Did I answer the question? LOL. I got on a roll.
Do you have an email list? If so, did you start it when you launched?
I do have an email list. I’m doing a relaunch of my newsletter and reaching out to my list.
Is this your only job? Did you launch your business while working another job?
This is 100% what I do today but I’m in a different place in my life. This is my life’s calling so I’m in – all the way.
How do you promote your site?
Right now, I’m not actively driving traffic to my site. This was by design as I finish tweaking my site, etc. to reflect PQ, etc.
Who are your favorite bloggers or podcasts right now? Or what is an influential book that you’ve read lately?
I’m in a book club and we’re reading “Grace…eventually” by Anne Lamott. Incredibly uplifting. The following quote isn’t from a podcast or book, but it’s been my mantra since I was 16: “…and she held her head high with the grace of a woman, not a child’s grief.” XO
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Be kind to yourself. It’s a tough world.
Curious about your Saboteurs? Here’s a complimentary Saboteur assessment. This isn’t a personality test! It’s simply a snapshot of where you go when you are stressed or getting “hijacked” by one of the 9 possible, Universal saboteurs.
Also, if you are curious about Sage Selling and Positive Intelligence™, I invite you to book a complimentary 20 min call. I’d love to connect!
