First things first – what would your walk-on-stage music be?
Carrie Underwood – The Champion
When did you start your business, and why did you create it?
I’ve been in the real estate industry for over 20 years, and a few years ago, I made the leap to become a full-time real estate broker. I was ready to work for myself, ready to take full ownership of both my successes and my setbacks. I thrive on challenges and am always looking for innovative ways to grow and improve.
Tell us about your business and what makes you unique in your field.
As a real estate broker, I have the privilege of guiding my clients through one of the biggest financial moments of their lives. I support them with trust and confidence, and take pride in being their go-to resource for every question, bump, and hurdle along the way.
What do you feel makes your audience special?
Shoreline is an incredible community full of passionate community members, I like to call them Shoreline Superfans! I love the Superfans!
If you could magically give all of your community members one thing in this world, what would it be, and why?
Confidence, we all struggle with it from time to time. That’s why having someone in your corner to remind you of your worth, your strengths, and just how amazing you are can make all the difference.
Has anything surprised you about starting a business?
How many things you need to know! It’s a fast way to really understand your strengths and weakness. Filling those weaknesses with the right support is really important.
Did you create your own website or hire it out? Do you use WordPress?
I hired someone to help me with my Real Estate website: KateLHomes.com. I built DestinationShoreline.com on Square Space. I’m really proud of both sites.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting their own business?
Start your database now! Having those contacts and relationships in place will really propel the start of your business.
Who are your favorite bloggers or podcasts right now? Or what is an influential book that you’ve read lately?
The The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, focus on a 1% improvement/progress everyday!
