First things first – what would your walk-on-stage music be?
Gosh this is a tough – I love most of SIA’s music but I would probably walk out to “Unstoppable”.
When did you start your business, and why did you create it?
When I reflect upon the past 25 years of my entrepreneurial journey, I can clearly see that it has been guided by divine intervention. It all began when I embarked on this path at the young age of 22, and ever since, it has been a profound love story. Along the way, there have been moments of heartbreak, but ultimately, love has remained at the core of everything I do as a business boss babe.
I relish in the unpredictable nature of entrepreneurship, embracing the challenges that come with growth and constantly pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. The thrill of the unknown invigorates me, as I know that it is through these challenges that I grow and expand as an individual and as a business leader. Every ounce of effort I pour into my endeavors is driven by my deep-rooted desire to serve and give back to others.
Five years ago, I experienced one of the most significant heartbreaks in my entrepreneurial journey. Someone I once cared about, loved, and trusted betrayed me by stealing our business. In that moment, I felt as though my journey had reached its conclusion. However, just when I thought all hope was lost, divine intervention once again made its presence known. It redirected my path and led me to the most gratifying work I have ever had the privilege of doing: being a business coach & marketing strategist for female entrepreneurs.
Guiding, supporting, and empowering my clients to stand in their power and forge ahead with their businesses has become an exhilarating endeavor. Drawing upon my years of knowledge, experience, and expertise, I have the honor of sharing valuable insights and strategies with my clients. Witnessing their growth, witnessing their dreams become a reality, is incredibly fulfilling and serves as a testament to the transformative power of entrepreneurship.
I am humbled by the opportunity to walk alongside these aspiring entrepreneurs as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of their own journeys. Together, we embrace the uncertainty, learn from setbacks, and celebrate every milestone reached. Through my work as a business coach, I find deep fulfillment in helping others unlock their full potential and create businesses that not only thrive but also make a positive impact in the world.
Tell us about your business and what makes you unique in your field.
Venturing into business coaching and mentoring has been a delightful surprise for me. While one might assume that my extensive experience as an entrepreneur and my track record of sustainable and profitable business ownership are the unique qualities I bring to the table, I have discovered that my true uniqueness lies in my ability to untangle the web of ideas and overwhelm that often accompanies being a business owner. I have found my strength in providing clarity and direction.
Working alongside incredible fempreneurs, I have witnessed the transformative power of guiding them towards a clear path forward. I help them navigate through the maze of possibilities, identify their true priorities, and chart a course that aligns with their vision and goals. This process empowers each woman I work with to take confident action in the right direction, while instilling within them a deep sense of certainty about the growth of their businesses.
What sets me apart is not just the practical knowledge and skills I possess, but the ability to see the potential within each individual and their unique business. I understand that growth is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It is about embracing the journey of becoming the person they need to be, both personally and professionally, to bring their vision to life. I guide them to unlock their innate abilities, overcome limiting beliefs, and step into their full potential.
The impact I have witnessed through this process has been awe-inspiring. Seeing my clients gain clarity, make strategic decisions, and witness tangible growth in their businesses fills me with immense joy. It is a privilege to be part of their journey, offering guidance and support as they navigate the challenges and celebrate the victories. I am grateful for the chance to contribute to their journey, and I eagerly look forward to the future as I continue to support and uplift women in their pursuit of entrepreneurial greatness.
What do you feel makes your audience special?
What makes my audience special is their unwavering belief in the power of their work and their innate strength as women. They possess a unique combination of resilience, determination, and authenticity that sets them apart.
These powerful women may not always recognize the extent of their power because it is so deeply ingrained in their way of existing. They navigate the entrepreneurial world with confidence and grace, embracing their femininity as a source of strength rather than a limitation. They break through barriers and challenge societal norms, forging their paths with purpose and conviction.
What sets them apart is their ability to create meaningful impact in their respective industries. They understand that success is not solely measured by financial gains, but also by the positive change they bring about in the lives of others. They are driven by a deep sense of purpose and a genuine desire to make a difference.
My audience of powerful women entrepreneurs also fosters a sense of community and collaboration. They recognize the importance of supporting and uplifting one another, rather than succumbing to a competitive mindset. They celebrate each other’s achievements and offer guidance and encouragement along the way. Together, they create a space where women can thrive, share ideas, and learn from each other’s experiences.
Having experienced the challenges of being the sole woman in a male-dominated environment, my audience understands the unique struggles faced by women in entrepreneurship. They are trailblazers, breaking down barriers and paving the way for future generations. Their determination to succeed, despite the obstacles, is what makes them truly special.
In this new space of working with powerful women, I have found a sense of belonging and camaraderie. They inspire me with their resilience, authenticity, and commitment to their craft. It is an honor to support and guide them on their entrepreneurial journeys, as they continue to make a profound impact in the business world and beyond.
If you could magically give all of your community members one thing in this world, what would it be, and why?
If I could magically give all of my community members one thing in this world, it would be the gift of a stage. This stage would provide them with a platform to share their stories, their experiences, and their wisdom with a large audience.
I believe that every person has a unique and powerful story within them, and by giving them a stage, I would be giving them the opportunity to inspire and touch the lives of others. It is through storytelling and personal experiences that we connect on a deep level, finding common ground and gaining insights that can transform our lives.
Additionally, a stage would amplify their voices and expand their reach, allowing them to make an even greater impact on the world. It would provide a platform for them to showcase their expertise, share their unique perspectives, and contribute to important conversations surrounding entrepreneurship, empowerment, and personal growth.
Giving my community members a stage would also serve as a validation of their worth and their contributions. It would remind them that their stories matter, their voices matter, and they have the power to effect positive change in the lives of others. It would instill in them a sense of confidence and empower them to continue pursuing their passions and making a difference in their respective fields.
Has anything surprised you about starting a business?
What has surprised me in this new arena of business being an online business training program is how much fun and a little challenging it is to learn something new – TECHNOLOGY!!!
The world of technology is constantly evolving, and as an entrepreneur, it’s crucial to stay ahead of the curve and leverage the latest tools and platforms to deliver the best possible experience for my clients. However, diving into this realm can be intimidating, especially for those who may not have a strong background in technology.
What has surprised me is how much fun I’ve had while navigating this learning process. While it can be challenging at times, I’ve found that embracing the opportunity to learn and grow in the digital space has been incredibly rewarding. The satisfaction that comes from acquiring new skills and successfully implementing them in my business is truly gratifying.
Did you create your own website or hire it out? Do you use WordPress?
My 22yr old son taught himself to create my website. I operated my business for 2 years without one lol
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting their own business?
If you’re considering starting your own business, here is some advice to guide you on your entrepreneurial journey:
1. Define Your Vision: Take the time to reflect on what you truly want to achieve with your business. Clarify your vision, mission, and values. This will serve as your compass and guide you through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
2. Research and Plan: Conduct thorough market research to understand your target audience, competition, and industry trends. Develop a comprehensive business plan that outlines your goals, strategies, and financial projections. This will provide you with a roadmap to follow and increase your chances of success.
3. Start Small and Test: Instead of diving headfirst into a large-scale venture, consider starting small and testing your business idea. Validate your concept by offering your product or service to a smaller audience, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments before scaling up.
4. Seek Mentorship and Support: Surround yourself with experienced mentors, advisors, and a supportive network of like-minded individuals. Their guidance and insights can prove invaluable as you navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship. Join local business associations or online communities to connect with fellow entrepreneurs.
5. Embrace Continuous Learning: Be open to learning new skills and staying updated with industry trends. Attend workshops, seminars, and online courses to enhance your knowledge and expertise. The more you invest in your personal and professional development, the better equipped you’ll be to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities.
6. Be Resilient and Flexible: Starting a business can be challenging and unpredictable. Embrace a resilient mindset, be prepared to face setbacks, and adapt to changing circumstances. Flexibility and the ability to pivot when necessary are key attributes of successful entrepreneurs.
7. Build Strong Relationships: Cultivate relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Focus on delivering exceptional value and creating meaningful connections. Building a strong network and fostering positive relationships can open doors to new opportunities and referrals.
8. Manage Your Finances Wisely: Develop a sound financial plan and track your expenses meticulously. Monitor cash flow, create a budget, and seek professional advice when needed. Building a solid financial foundation is crucial for the long-term sustainability of your business.
9. Embrace Innovation and Technology: Stay ahead of the curve by embracing innovation and leveraging technology to streamline your operations, reach a wider audience, and enhance customer experience. Continuously explore ways to integrate new tools and digital strategies into your business.
10. Take Care of Yourself: Entrepreneurship can be demanding, both mentally and physically. Prioritize self-care and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Set boundaries, practice stress management techniques, and allocate time for activities that rejuvenate and inspire you.
Remember, starting a business is a journey filled with ups and downs. Stay focused, persevere through challenges, and celebrate your successes along the way. With determination, passion, and a clear vision, you can turn your entrepreneurial dreams into a fulfilling reality.
If you could go back in time and do something differently, what would you do and why?
I wouldn’t do anything differently. Had you asked me this question 5 years ago I would have written a novel of what I do differently. However, I realize I had to go through all of it to get here. Today, my heartache is healed and many parts of me are still healing, opening me up to incredible space for creativity. I am grateful that I experienced all of it from the greatest joy to the darkest times because without it I would not be so full of JOY today.
Do you have an email list? If so, did you start it when you launched?
I do have a small email list and unfortunately my previous email list and date base of 25yrs of business was burned to the ground. Restarting from zero has been an interesting growth experience.
Is this your only job? Did you launch your business while working another job?
I’ve never had another profession. I’ve only been a business owner.
How do you promote your site?
My strategy is a 3 prong system. I generate leads via free workshops. Utilizing my Facebook group and then finally building relationships in networking groups.
